If yes, we want to invite you to participate in a Ryerson University Study called: Planning dementia-inclusive neighbourhoods in the Greater Toronto Area during COVID-19.

This is a two-week long study that involves interviews, taking photos of your neighbourhood and recording your daily trips outside your home. You will receive a $50 gift card for participating.

We are looking for ten (10) adults who:

• have been diagnosed with dementia
• lives at home (not in a long-term care home or retirement home)
• lives in the Greater Toronto Area (e.g. York Region, Durham Region, Peel Region, Halton Region, Hamilton)

By participating in the study, we will ask you to share your stories in three different ways:

🗨Interviews:

• We will be taking the time to get to know you over the course of two interviews on Zoom or the phone:
  • #1: At the beginning to get to know you better and teach you how to use the tools.
  • #2: At the end to talk about your experience using the tools below.

📷Taking photos

• We will be giving you a digital camera to take photos of the places in your neighbourhood that are part of your everyday life.

📝Travel Diary

• We will provide you with a travel diary and GPS tracker to carry for 2 weeks. This information will be stored securely to protect your privacy.
• This is to get a better understanding of where you normally travel in your neighbourhood.

You do not have to worry about knowing how to use the equipment! We will be teaching you how to use the equipment.

Due to current COVID-19 measures, all interviewing will be conducted online over Zoom.

All of your data will be stored securely and confidentially.
